The City Council will try again this evening to pass a budget for the fiscal year that starts in two days, and member could have a little more information at hand as they argue about the economy and what Henderson’s citizens can afford. The state Employment Security Commission should release the county unemployment figures for May by midday. Vance County has seen better numbers this year, but it still ranks near the bottom of the state in employment.
