Summer reading program launches tomorrow

“Paws, Claws, Scales, and Tales” and “Creature Feature” participants, and those who want to sign up, are invited to join us for Summer Reading 2006’s Kickoff Celebration at the new H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library building at 205 Breckenridge Street.

For those who signed up in advance, this is your first opportunity to get your Reading Logs and record your summer books. Signup will also be available for those who have not yet registered. Registration will continue throughout Summer Reading 2006.

Our featured guests at the Kickoff join us from the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and will be presenting “Birds of a Feather.” Other activities include a craft table, a game corner, and refreshments. All activities begin at 2 PM and continue till 4 PM. For good seats or spaces at the activities, arrival no later than 1:45 is recommended, since there is no signup list or limit on participation. Library staff and volunteers ask that, due to expected volume, all young people under twelve be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Summer Reading 2006 is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, a reading club, and more. Please join us July 5 for the library’s Grand Opening events and July 10 when the regular weekly meetings begin. For more information, call Miss Claire at the library at 438-3316 or visit our website at www.perrylibrary.org. The library welcomes children of all abilities. All programs are free of charge.
