Some readers have asked why I did not report on the loss of Renee Jones Carter of E.M. Rollins Elementary School this week. Simply put, for personal reasons, I prefer at some appropriate future time to write a tribute to her life and work rather than a report of her death. However, I am deeply affected by the loss of a gifted and dedicated teacher, as are we all at the school, and I trust that all readers will keep her family and friends in their thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.
