Arrest made in October 19 robbery


According to a statement from the Henderson Police Department, an arrest was made on October 25 regarding the October 19 robbery of two passengers in a vehicle on the 600 block of McBorn Street.

That robbery occurred at gunpoint at 1:30 a.m. The victims reported being approached by three males who robbed them of their belongings.

Officer A.D. Simmons arrested and charged Derrick Lamar Haywood, age 21, of 156 Bobcat Lane in Henderson with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Two others are sought for questioning in the case: Anthony Benson, 20, and Bradley Ellis, 20, both of the Henderson area. According to the police statement, these other two suspects face similar charges in connection with the robbery. Persons knowing the whereabouts of these individuals are cautioned not to approach them, but rather to call 911 or local law enforcement authorities. They should be considered armed and dangerous.
