The Art and Essay Contests focused on the theme of recycling. The Vance County Appearance Commission designed the competitions to have local students focus on the importance of local citizens to recycle products at home, school and work. Student art and essay work depicted and discussed positive reasons for recycling and ways our citizens can take part in recycling efforts.
