This from City Manager Jerry Moss:
The Committee appointed by the City Council to study a Youth Protection Ordinance will conduct a public forum in the Vance County Courthouse Main Courtroom on January 30, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. to hear input from parents, their children and others interested in this ordinance.
Doors to the Courthouse will be open at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m. This will be publicized in the Henderson Daily Dispatch and WIZS Radio free of charge. There will be flyers sent to all the public and private schools in Vance County as well as a copy of the flyer being posted in the Public Library downtown.
It is our hope this meeting will be well attended by the public and those of you interested in protection of our young people in Vance County. I would hope that we could schedule a public hearing in the City Council Chambers on this ordinance (if all goes well at the forum) for our February 26, 2007 City Council meeting. We would need to call for the public hearing at our next meeting on February 12, 2007.
