Thursday’s open line

A long-time reader asked us to advise Home in Henderson readers of a telephone identity theft short con called the “jury duty scam”.

The scam involves false claims that due to a failure to appear for jury duty, a warrant has been issued for a potential victim’s arrest. The con artist then asks for the victim’s Social Security number and date of birth to “verify the information”. You can read more details about the scam here.
