On Sunday, February 25, at approximately 8:10 p.m., the Henderson Police Department responded to a suspicious fire at the 300 block of Boddie Street, Beacon Light Apartments, Building 9, Henderson, North Carolina, 27536.
Officers responded to the fire scene call with the Vance County Fire Department. Upon arrival, Building 9 was totally engulfed in flame.
While firefighters attempted to put out the fire, officers evacuated residences on Pinkston Street due to the fact that the houses are located directly behind the apartment complex.
Residents of Pinkston Street were able to return to their homes within an hour.
One person was treated by Vance County EMS for smoke inhalation.
Officers secured the fire scene when the Fire Department was finished. The fire is the subject of an ongoing investigation.
The total amount of damage is unknown.
