The new City of Henderson Council Chamber at 134 Rose Avenue
The City of Henderson held its inaugural meeting in its new chambers at 134 Rose Avenue last night.
At the outset of the meeting, Interim City Manager Ed Wyatt thanked Assistant City Manager Frank Frazier for his “long hours and hard work”. He also noted the contributions of Planning and Community Development Erris Dunston in moving and installing city computers in the new facility.
Wyatt told council members that a decorating committee has been appointed to determine the best way to decorate the city’s new facility. He said that employees had been instructed not to put anything up until the best course of action had been determined.
Among other new attributes, the refurbished former library boasts a private meeting room for the council so that the main chamber need not be evacuated during closed sessions of the council.
The interim city manager told members that he hopes to hold an open house to show off the new city hall in the fall.
