Yount’s questions to be answered

During the City Manager report portion of Monday’s meeting of the Henderson City Council, City Manager Ed Wyatt announced that questions regarding the Embassy Foundation’s grant request would be answered “tomorrow”.

The questions were posed in writing by former Henderson City Council member Elissa Yount at the council’s meeting of June 9, 2008.

Yount also requested that the media be provided the answers at the same time.

According to Wyatt, Henderson Planning & Community Development Director Erris Dunston and the city Special Projects Manager Kathy Powell collaborated on the answers to Yount’s questions.

In a letter dated July 2, 2008, Wyatt wrote that the city would be unable to respond to Yount’s questions until the public hearing on the proposed grant application for the Embassy performance hall project that is to take place on August 11, 2008.

At the time of publication of this article, HiH has not received either the responses to Yount’s questions or notice of the August public hearing. By North Carolina law, notice of a public hearing must be given ten days in advance of the event.
