HPD makes arrest during W. Belle St. robbery


On February 24, 2010 around 11:18 a.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to 227 W. Belle Street in reference to a breaking and entering in progress.

Upon the arrival of officers, the suspect, Lynn Lennon Williams of 521 Hilliard Street, Henderson was located inside the residence. Williams was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering. He was given a $25,000 secured bond and remains in the Vance County Jail pending an initial court appearance of April 13, 2010.

The arrest was based on a concerned neighbor who observed the crime in progress.

Williams at the time of his arrest was allegedly an absconder from the North Carolina Division of Community Corrections, Probation and Parole, for a 2007 conviction in Vance County for sale of a Schedule II controlled substance. The North Carolina DOC website reports that Williams was convicted in 1994, 2001, and 2003 for felony breaking and entering in Franklin County. In 1994, Williams was also convicted in Vance County for common law robbery.
