Etheridge to meet with NOAA officials on storms


Raleigh — U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) will discuss predictions of multiple Atlantic hurricanes on the first day of the 2010 hurricane season on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Raleigh.

Etheridge will be joined by officials from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) and storm tracking experts from NC State University.

The 2010 Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1, and this season could be very active. NOAA is projecting a 70 percent probability of 14 to 23 named tropical storms and hurricanes.
