On October 26, 2010, officers of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team assisted federal agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in the service of a federal indictment on Earnest Augustus Hawkins, 32, of 1753 Old Norlina Road in Henderson, North Carolina.

Earnest Hawkins
Hawkins has been indicted in US Federal Court, NC Eastern District, by ATF agents on federal charges of conspiracy to commit a Hobbs Act robbery.
A Hobbs Act robbery is one which affects interstate or foreign commerce.
This charge is the result of an ongoing investigation by ATF agents with the cooperation of officers of the Henderson Police Department.
Hawkins is currently in federal custody pending his first appearance in federal court.
