HPD makes arrest in Walmart armed robbery case


On Wednesday January 26, 2011, an officer of the Henderson Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested Jovon Antwan Bullock, 22, of 416 Harriett Street in Henderson, North Carolina.

Bullock was charged with one count of armed robbery for an incident that occurred on October 23, 2010 at the Walmart in Henderson. In this incident, it is alleged that Bullock attempted to leave the store with a cart full of unpaid-for items. Bullock was confronted by store loss prevention and Bullock allegedly threatened the employee with a baseball bat before leaving the premises.

The merchandise lost in this incident amounted to $60.00.

Bond in this matter was set at $22,000 secured. A preliminary court date of February 7, 2011 was set.

Bullock was also charged with one count of misdemeanor larceny and one count of conspiracy to commit larceny for an incident that occurred on January 14, 2011 at the Roses Department Store located at 1245 Dabney Drive in Henderson. In this incident, it is alleged that Bullock and unnamed others exited the store with a 26” Sanyo television through a fire exit. A $500 secured bond was set in this matter. A preliminary court date of February 7, 2011 was also set.

Furthermore, a warrant was served for the Vance County Sheriff’s Department charging Bullock with breaking and entering. Several outstanding orders for arrest from various counties were served as well. The bond in all these matters was set at $31,500 secured. The court dates in these matters was set again for February 7, 2011.
