Several days ago, in response to a remark a comment poster made to the effect that nothing is free, I posted an open line stating that that person and like minded individuals should send me a check, since Home in Henderson is offered free-of-charge. I was subsequently criticized for not specifying an amount.
My statement was more or less in jest. It is pretty clear to me that although people are willing to pay for a newspaper, the computer-savvy among us seem to feel that news on the Internet should be free. Should it? Have I been foolish to not charge a subscription fee all of these years?
Let us know what you think on today’s open line.
