Man arrested for theft of sewing notions


On Friday, February 18, 2011, an officer of the Henderson Police Department responded to a call regarding a larceny at Walmart.

Loss prevention officers indicated that they had stopped an individual outside the store whom they had observed concealing items while inside.

Sidney Edward Pendergrass, 35, of 1150 Victory Street in Henderson was found to be in possession of four packs of charms, two packs of bead strands, five packs of findings, two packs of accents, two packs of yarn, one tote bag, a spool of thread, one eyelet kit, one pack of elastic, and one cabone having a value of $51.03.

Pendergrass was charged with one count of misdemeanor larceny. He was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $1,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Vance County District Court on March 28, 2011.
