North Carolina Departent of Transportation has released the results from recent transportation survey whose goal was to identify problem areas on the roads of Vance County.  Dabney Drive and Andrews Avenue are ranked high on the list of problem and conjested roads.  Suggestions included sidewalks for Dabney Drive and Andrews Avenue, walking trails and commuter rail from Henderson to major cities like Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte to small cities such as Louisburg and Norlina.  The intersections of Beckford Drive and Dabney Drive, and Dabney Drive at the McDonalds turn in raked high among problem areas.  Numerous complains about mopeds on Dabney Drive, Highway 39 and sight distance from adjoining streets.  Exit 212 from Highway 85 onto Ruin Creek Road received numerous complains as the green light does not allow enough cars to pass through.  Home in Henderson received enough referrals to the survey they specifically included us in the response listing with 8 noted responses.  167 respons were from ‘website link’ so we may be included in that category as well.   Over 500 people in the area completed the survey.
