Vance County Schools – Funtastic Kids Club

Vance County Schools is now accepting applications for elementary students to attend the school system’s Funtastic Kids Club after school programs for the 2011-2012 school year.

The Funtastic Kids Club operates at all of our elementary schools as long as there are at least enough students enrolled full time to financially support the program. Financial assistance to pay fees is available for qualifying families through the Vance County Department of Social Services.

The after school programs offer school-aged children a safe and enriching environment led by caring, adult staff members. Daily activities in the Funtastic Kids Club include snack time, homework time, outdoor and indoor physical activities, arts and crafts, computer fun and special presentations by community organizations.

Operating hours for the elementary after school programs are 3 to 6 p.m. each regular school day. The program is open on some teacher workdays. During these teacher workdays, operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Students must be picked up at the end of the program each day and taken home by their parent or another designated adult.

There is a $15 registration fee for each family and the cost of the program is $50 per child per week.

Applications and additional information about the Funtastic Kids Club after school programs are available in the Public Information Office in the Vance County Schools’ Administrative Services Center at 1724 Graham Avenue in Henderson.
