Citizens from Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren counties came together at the main campus of Vance-Granville Community College on Oct. 25 as the college’s advisory committees held their annual meetings. The Vance-Granville Community Band presented its fall concert on Oct. 17 in the Louisburg High School auditorium. $1.4 Million Awarded To Replace Granville County Bridge
RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a $1.4 million contract to replace a bridge on Gooch Mills Road over the Tar River, west of Oxford in Granville County. United Contractors LLC of Great Falls, S.C. won the contract to replace the 59-year-old bridge, which is considered structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.
