June 15 deadline for updates for 2013 N.C. Travel Guide

Now is the best time for all attractions and accommodations to check VisitNC.com to view their property’s listing and to verify that their information listed is correct. If your listing needs to be updated, contact your local Extranet county contact. The Division’s Extranet fuels the database for VisitNC.com and also for the information for the listings in the Official North Carolina Travel Guide. The deadline for the Extranet county contacts to update the listings for attractions and accommodations that will be used in the 2013 Official North Carolina Travel Guide is June 15.

To help ensure accuracy for both industry partners and visitors, all data listings in the Division’s Extranet database are entered by local contacts within each of the state’s 100 counties. If a destination, lodging, attraction, restaurant or event is not currently listed or needs to be updated, the new “Get Listed” link available below the footer of each VisitNC.com page will lead to the appropriate Chamber, CVB or TDA representative in each county. It’s searchable by town or county.

Accommodations and attractions are encouraged to include toll-free numbers; the toll-free number, if available, will be used as the phone number for accommodation listings. “Icon amenities” for accommodations will be Indoor Pool, Outdoor Pool, Internet Access, Complimentary Breakfast, Exercise Room, Restaurant On-Site and Pets Allowed. Unless an accommodations property has these amenities marked on their property listing (rather than in the property description itself), the information will not be available in the Travel Guide via the icons.
