Home in Henderson will have a weekly thread for political issues, including this thread, counting down the 8 weeks until November 6th, 2012, election day. Discuss as you please, keep it civil and respectful. Next Tuesday will be 4 Week Countdown and so forth. (I hope I got the week count right.)
You are free to comment on political issues anywhere else on the site as well, but it might be easier to carry about long discussions in specified threads instead of many different threads over the website.
How many of HIH posters plan to watch tomorrow’s presidential debate?
Good question, Prudence. Since I have a previous commitment, I may just rely on Reverend Brand’s evaluation. I am certain he has already given the nod to Obama, but just to be sure, I will watch MSNBC afterwards to hear Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow validate Reverend Brand’s analysis. According to two friends in other counties, the state Democrat Party has already issued instructions to county chairman to declare victory for Obama.
I’ll probably watch it. I want to watch one man explain and blame everyone why he couldn’t get any of his past promises approved, then watch the other man lie about how he is going to lower my taxes, bring jobs, etc, etc. I wish I could submit a question or questions:
1. What is in this for me?
2. If elected, will you even remember me 30 days after the election?
Hanitty’s program last night showed Obama tapes from 2007–everyone should see these before election day. The president’s racism is unreal in the tapes. Media never called him on this.
The debate was not dull.–The VP debate next Thursday should be woth watching as well.
Romney piccked it up a few paces–and in some places Obama looked lost–and a bit embarassed. This, of course, was my opinion. Have at it fellow bloggers.
In the words of Tar Heel sports announcer, Woody Durham, “Un-be-lieve-able, Tar Heels win.” No, folks, it wasn’t the Tar Heels who won last night. It was Governor Mitt Romney. I could hardly believe my ears this morning while listening to a discussion between four political consultants who were discussing last night’s debate. Even the two Dem consultants admitted Romney scored a big time victory. One even said, “If last night had been a heavyweight championship match, the referee would have stopped the fight in the first round.”
Even more enjoyable was listening to left-wing commentator, Chris Matthews, on MSNBC, moaning and screwing up his face after the debate. Of course, Comrade Matthews blamed Obama’s performance on “lack of preparation” implying that he had been busy on his presidential duties while Governor Romney had time to rest and prepare. Chris capped off his performance by saying, “How could the President let Romney get away with all those lies and all that other crap he threw out there?”
The media has to back track–they do hate to have to admit they were wrong 4 years ago. Can’t wait for the VP and then the 2nd Romney-Obama tangle.
In all honesty, I fell asleep before the debate even came on. I did read a few briefs in the news regarding how the candidates did. I hate I missed it!
Romney really took it to Obama last night. For the first time in years our President did not possess that ‘rock star’ appeal and seemed unsure of himself. Today I read that Romney is basking in the glory of his ‘win’ and Obama’s team is crying foul. I think a lot of eyes were opened in our nation last night.
The election will be very close no matter what transpires between now and November 6. No matter your status in life, you will be affected by our next President. If you are a retired person, living on SS and dividends, if Obama and the Dems prevail, your dividends will be taxed for the first time in years…no matter your income. This is Obama’s dirty little secret. In addition, there are hidden costs throughout Obamacare. Older citizens should beware. If those reading this, have parents or older friends, talk to them. Let them know that their vote matters.
Maybe some on here are not concerned about the communists, socialists and radicals that Obama calls his friends and mentors. In my lifetime, I have learned that those whom a President has around him, make a huge difference.
If none of the above makes an impression on you, take this thought to bed with you tonight. God forbid, if something terrible happened to President Obama, how safe and secure would you feel with Joe Biden as our President and Nancy Pelosi next in line?
I rest my case.
Well I did watch some of the debate and like I said in my above post, all I heard was excuses. The moderator was too harsh(or wasn’t strict enough on Romney. I wasn’t prepared, or it wasn’t my fault. Geez….just a few more months!
Well, I understand why someone on here calls Romney , Flopney. Geesh, now the 47% do count. Republicans must be rolling their eyes, their candidate is self destructing.
Great news for Vance County residents and we have Al Gore to thank. Al correctly pointed out that the reason President Obama did so poorly in the first debate was due to the mile high altitude in Denver. For that reason, and in fairness to the President, the second debate will be held at the bottom of Greystone hole and Vance County residents get first choice at tickets. Thanks a lot, Al.
Mingo, the self destruction took place Wed night and everyone saw it.
I agree Dagny, but it was Romney. Looked closely into his eyes, he doesn’t have the truth in him, and the public is figuring that out as he changes his lies/opinions on issues. Toast he is.
On a more local note: I see that NO CHARGES will be filed against the employee of Vance Co. Schools who alledgedly “put her hands on a student”. If more parents would teach their children that the World Owes them Nothing instead of ME,ME,ME mentality the schools and society in general would be a better place. Like I posted previously when rev/pastor/deacon miles was complaining that his ‘volunteering’ was no longer neede and he got Lil’ Garey Ballance to represent him as his attorney it was over before it ever started. Now I read that this student’s parents has Lil’ Garey Ballance as an attorney……
Is Lil’ Garey trying to build up his practice so much that he is taking these highly unusual cases? I guess when you’re a convicted FELON who is still allowed to practice Law; you do what you can to get clients!!! Maybe if the student hadn’t been over by the Teacher’s desk/computer area then she wouldn’t have the opportunity to be ‘touched’!!! NUFF SAID!!!!!
For those who would feel sorry for Big Bird, if PBS has its funding cut–consider these points.
Sesame Street products are licensed and make hefty returns on their products and have for years.
Check out the news programs and late night interview program carried on our UNC Channel 4–these programs not only receive private funding but definitely slant oward the left in a big way.
Do any others out there agree?
