From Henderson Police Department: The Christmas Parade is this Sunday, December 2, 2012. The Parade will begin at 2:30 PM. The parade route will be from the Garnett Street Extension, Dabney Drive, continuing to Garnett Street to Andrews Avenue. This route will be posted “NO PARKING”, between the hours of 12:00 PM noon until 5:00 PM on this date.
Please note the route, as well as the hours posted for “NO PARKING”. If vehicles are found in violation of parking in these designated areas, the vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense, as per Henderson City ordinance (Section 10-25). We would like to thank our citizens in advance for adhering to this notice. The Henderson Police Department would like to wish everyone a happy and joyous holiday season.
Would it be possible to have the Christmas parade without the screaming sirens on the fire trucks? Or will that practice stop only after a child chasing after someone’s candy treat is hit by a car or truck because they were unable to hear the warning scream of their parent?
I am so pleased to learn that the Henderson Christmas Parade was a success. I could hear it from my close to downtown home, despite that I was unable to attend. There is something truly special about parades, even if one only feels the music from a distance. My spirits were lifted as I felt the parade go by. A city has come together to enjoy a celebration! Yay!
