On Sunday, February 24, 2013, at 7:38 P.M. officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to the parking lot of Food Lion, 1650 N. Garnett Street, Henderson in response to a female reporting being robbed. The victim, Darnesha Small, 23, 36 Red Clay Lane, Henderson indicated that while loading groceries into her car, a suspect armed with a handgun took her cell phone and attempted to take her vehicle. Small was not injured during the incident and her vehicle was not taken. The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5’10, 150 pounds having a short haircut. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
The incident is under further investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division and is not believed to be related to the carjacking incidents currently under investigation.
