McKinley, Small, and Vandergrift Arrested on Herion Charges


On Friday, April 12, 2013, members of the Henderson Police Department arrested Jonquil McKinley., 22, 118 North Street, Henderson.  McKinley was charged with three counts of trafficking heroin.

McKinley was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 90,000.00 dollar secured bond.  A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the Vance County District Court on April 22, 2013.

Also on Friday, April 12, 2013, members of the Henderson Police Department arrested Warren Lee Small Jr., 24, 604 High Street, Henderson. Small was charged with three counts of trafficking heroin, two counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver heroin, two counts of sale and delivery of heroin, and one count of conspiracy to sell heroin.  He was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 215,000.00 secured bond.  A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the Vance County District Court on April 22, 2013.

Cornelius Vandergrift, 27, 346 N. Clark Street, Henderson was arrested on Friday as well.  Vandergrift was charged with one count of conspiracy to sell heroin, two counts of sale and delivery of heroin, and two counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin.  He was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 90,000.00 secured bond.  He also has a preliminary hearing in Vance County District Court on April 22, 2013.

These arrests are part of a continuing investigation into violent crime and heroin trafficking in the Henderson and Vance County area being conducted by the Henderson Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.  Additional FEDERAL indictments and arrest in this investigation are forthcoming.
