State Farmers Market open regular hours June 2

RALEIGH — Visitors to the State Farmers Market on Sunday morning should plan to take an alternate route, as Lake Wheeler Road will be closed temporarily for Raleigh’s first-ever Ironman 70.3 competition.

The farmers market will be open Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but Lake Wheeler Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the race. Visitors are encouraged to access the market from Centennial Boulevard, by way of Avent Ferry Road, during those times.

The State Farmers Market has a large selection of seasonal produce, breads, cut flowers, gardening plants and shrubs. Shoppers also can find a variety of N.C. wines and specialty products in the Market Shoppes, browse home and garden accessories at Market Imports, and eat at the State Farmers Market Restaurant or N.C. Seafood Restaurant. The State Farmers Market is located at 1201 Agriculture St.
