N.C. Reemployment Grant Renewed

North Carolina was awarded nearly $2.8 million in Reemployment Eligibility and Assessment funds to help unemployed citizens find jobs. The federal funds, awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor, will be used to help fund North Carolina’s ongoing program of creating re-employment plans for recipients of unemployment insurance. The plans will be based on the citizen’s career interests and will incorporate information about the local labor market. North Carolina was one of 41 recipients of the U.S. DOL funds, which were awarded to 37 other states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia. This is the third year that North Carolina has had its REA grant renewed.
