Dean Norris, Rachelle Lefevre and other cast members of one of network TV’s hottest summer shows, Under the Dome, have immersed themselves in the local scene during shoots in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties for the CBS drama, which is slated to wrap filming this week. During their final days in town, Norris explored Bald Head Island, Lefevre took in a Rockabilly show at Brooklyn Arts Center and Mackenzie Lintz shopped at downtown boutique Edge of Urge for Dome‘s wrap party, according to Twitter.
Not to worry though, locals will soon be able to follow the adventures of a whole new crop of actors. Sleepy Hollow cast members, including up-and-coming British actor Tom Mison, began work on Hollywood East’s latest TV production this past weekend. The Fox series, which is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, filmed its pilot episode in Salisbury in March. The remaining 12 episodes of its 13-episode, first-season order kicked off filming this weekend in Wilmington and New Bern.
Tryon Palace hosts filming of TV series Sleepy Hollow
Visitors to Tryon Palace in New Bern got a sneak peek at Fox’s new series Sleepy Hollow as construction began last Sunday for filming this past Monday and Tuesday on the grounds. Because all scenes were filmed at night, the attraction didn’t change operating hours or scheduled tours. Scenes for the series were filmed at the Palace and primarily took place in the eastern courtyard – between the outer and inner gates – and the smokehouse, located just behind the Kitchen Office. Filming for Sleepy Hollow marked the first time Tryon Place has been used as the location for a major studio production. “We hope this will be the beginning of a productive and profitable relationship with the film industry in our state,” said Philippe Lafargue, acting director for Tryon Palace. “We [did] everything possible to minimize any visitor impact and are certainly looking forward to seeing the Palace on Fox this fall.”
