A Red Letter Valentine’s Weekend Coming Up at the JPAC

LOUISBURG, N.C.—The JPAC at Louisburg College will host two special arts events around Valentine’s Day this year: a concert with The Lettermen in Dickson Auditorium on the day itself, February 14, and a dinner theatre production of Love Letters in The Norris Theatre the following evening.

The Lettermen, February 14 (Dickson Auditorium)

Back by popular demand, on Friday, February 14 at 7:30pm, pop crooners The Lettermen will recreate their hits such as “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” “When I Fall in Love,” and “Theme from a Summer Place.”

This concert event will take place in the Frances Boyette Dickson Auditorium in Louisburg College’s Seby B. Jones Performing Arts Center (JPAC). Tickets are available by calling the Louisburg College Box Office at (919) 497-3300 or toll-free at 1 (866) 773-6354.

Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the day of show; the Box Office is located in the JPAC at the left front entrance of the Holt Lobby. It is open 1-5pm, Monday through Friday, and 6pm the evening of each performance. Additional information and tickets are also available online at www.JPACarts.com/lettermen.

All concert series performances over the entire season will take place at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 6:45pm. Children 12 and under, accompanied by an adult, are admitted free to all performances. The JPAC offers a special discount rate for groups of 20 or more.

Additional support for the Allen de Hart Concert Series comes from the Franklin County Tourism Development Authority.

Love Letters, February 15 (The Norris Theatre)

In its first dinner event of the season, The Norris Theatre presents acclaimed playright A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters on Saturday, February 15. A fine dinner will be served at 6pm, followed by the performance at 7:30pm.

Love Letters is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies, in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down. Not the usual romantic comedy, it is nevertheless a hauntingly beautiful play about love and two people who fall in love. The play stars Wally Hurst, the Director of The Norris Theatre, and his real-life wife, Maria Hurst.

This show has been rated PG-13 for adult language and situations. Love Letters is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, New York, New York.

Tickets for the dinner and show are $50 per couple. For more information and to make reservations, call the Louisburg College Box Office at (919) 497-3300.
