Museum Life + Science announces $3.9 million expansion plans


The Museum of Life and Science in Durham has announced plans for a $3.9 million expansion to build two new outdoor learning environments on the Museum’s 84-acre campus. “Hideaway Woods,” opening in Summer 2015, will have tree house villages, living twig and sapling structures, and play space especially for visitors ages 18 months-5 years. “Earth Moves,” slated to open in 2016, will immerse visitors in Earth sciences with a large scale digger pit, earthquake platform and free-standing waterfall.
