A committee of three commissioners will meet on Monday at noon to discuss accepting the city’s grand plan of transferring control of parks and recreation to the county. A plan offered by the same snake oil salesman who sold the county on using an out of the county third party to operator and manager the county’s water system. Did the commissioners learn anything from that?
At Monday night’s commissioners meeting is our one and only opportunity to sing praises or sling figurative tomatoes about the county’s proposed budget. Let’s fill all 200 seats.
One more thing, according to some residence along the western boarder of our county “they” are moving the county’s boundary line. Who is or are “they” is an unknown. The grapevine is full of stories and antidotes about property shifting into Granville County or into Vance County. One of the better stories is of the family’s home that had been in Vance County for decades and is now a house divided. Some parts are now in the Granville County the rest remaining in Vance County. Any truth to this land swapping?
why not transfer recreation to the county where it belongs
Mike I would like to sit in on the meetings but experience shows that the commissioners do what they want to regardless of what the voters say. Also the county lines have shifted in Franklin Co as well; it must be a Granville Co. thing.
In the Wake-Franklin land swaps, property that straddled the county line was put in one or the other county. Not sure how it was negotiated.
