Also another shooting on Marshall St. over in the Flint Hill neighborhood. Seems that guy named Matthew Davis who has a pretty long rap sheet got shot but didn’t get killed. Rumor has it that it was an attempt by Davis to rob another drug dealer who didn’t take lightly to being punched and threatened and was protecting his “goods”. If I were to guess I’m sure that Matthew Davis isn’t cooperating with the HPD b/c it’s kinda hard to say that “I was trying to rob a drug dealer of his product and he put some LEAD in my %*&!!!!
Do you still wonder why kids come to school after having to live in what isn’t much more than a 3rd World Country b/c these punks are too lazy to get out and get real, honest paying jobs. They would rather sit on the block and slang dope all day and “HOPE” that 5-0 don’t roll through. Don’t believe me…..check out the rap sheet on Matthew Davis…..10+ years ago also shot and killed Jordan Hawkins while sitting on the block over on the “HILL”. Check the papers…computers…streets…families and then come back and tell me I’m wrong!!! You won’t or can’t b/c it’s all FACT!!!! Summer is heating up so I would suggest all law abiding citizens pack the “heat” as well!!! Protect your families from these punk drug dealers!!!
I did the “work” for you bloggers so here goes Matthew Davis criminal convictions(not charges)…but CONVICTIONS!!!
1. 1999 Sell Schedule II(felony)
2. 2000 Sell Schedule II(felony)
3. 2001 Sell Schedule II(felony)
4. 2002 Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon(felony)
Whatever happened to 3 strikes and you would get sent up the river so the local communities don’t have to deal with your criminal ways? Here’s 4 Felony Convictions and here’s the icing on the cake:
Admission Date into the NC Dept of Corrections…..6/14/2002
Release Date………………..3/11/2004
Is there any wonder they continue to do what they do with the drugs and the shootings? Way to go District 9 District Attorney’s Office…..you really know how to get harsh sentences!!!! NOT!!!!
Your observations and facts are ‘right on’, Deception. However, the real deception is that these long term poor and desperate people don’t want a job. In my experience with Henderson’s poorest, they would be glad to have a job. However, I’ve also noticed there are no jobs for anyone who falls out of the accepted norm , even for some of those who have college degrees and want to remain in Henderson. I have yet to meet a homeless person who wasn’t trying to survive with their available skills in a job market that excludes them because they made a mess of their lives and ended up with no home and often in prison. I have sympathy for our citizens who have made grievous errors but I don’t have a lot of sympathy for those who cling to unforgiveness as if that is what Jesus would do. Every child is our child. We are all part of the whole. Sobbering statistic; roughly 25% of our adult population, nationally, are felons. That means one forth of our population cannot vote or have a fair chance of being employed. That means someone needs to make sure they don’t starve to death in the streets. Crime thrives most in poverty, economic and spiritual.
Zep you are correct in that “most” of these folks don’t want an honest job. They don’t mind selling poison to your family or mine as far as that goes. They don’t even mind selling it to their own kind. In a roundabout way that’s a form of genocide b/c the poison they are selling is definitely killing people. Don’t believe it…..check out the statistics from High Point with all the overdose deaths in the past couple of months.
It’s been proven by numerous studies by people way smarter than myself that anytime you have a city with numerous Section 8 Houses and High Unemployment Drugs are inevitable. There’s a certain ‘breed’ of folks who don’t know how to earn an honest paycheck. They would rather risk getting caught by the Police b/c the punishment is laughable due to the way the Court System works than to get up and have to go to work at 8:00 everyday. If you keep putting these lenient Judges and the District Atty. Office is staffed by the same old folks you had better go get yourself a gun and be ready to use it.
The posts about Matthew Davis shows a CONVICT w/4 Felony Convictions(one in which he was in possession of a firearm) and he’s only served 21-22 months in Prison!!! Most states have a LAW that if you’re a Convicted Felon in possession of a firearm you get a Mandatory 5 yr. Prison Sentence. Why not NC? The District Atty. Offices of District 9 are too eager to offer a plea so that it appears they have a high conviction rate when in fact they only give out slaps on the hands. Is there any wonder why Cindy Bostic(who was endorsed by outgoing DA Sam Currin) lost by a landslide? I would say that the taxpayers are tired of the status quo.
Deception is absolutely correct about Section 8 and other forms of subsidized housing attracting criminals. At least 25 years ago, several of us warned our Mayor about this fact, but he and a few of his friends answered in a similar vein, “These people spend money. They buy groceries, gas and cars. Henderson needs to grow. Trust us. We know what we are doing.”
I wonder what the “Boys With Long Arms” think now. Before anyone asks, the term “Boys With Long Arms” came because they were very adept at patting themselves on the back.
Rooter-I couldn’t agree with you more but I will say this….the children of the lazy, good for nothing adults who lay around all day “chillin” are not the problem. The problem is that when they grow up this is the only lifestyle they have ever been exposed to. There are way too many Churches in Vance County with enough $$$ to have some sort of program during the summer months so these kids aren’t either walking the streets or sitting around the house getting a “contact high” b/c of the adults in the house smoking blunts. If you proclaim to be a Christian and you don’t reach out to these troubled/disadvantaged children then shame on you. How hard would it be to pick up those kids and take them to the library or to the park and let them see how GOD loves everyone? Who knows; you may be the one adult who influences that particular child to turn away from drugs/violence/gangs and you may save that child from an early death or prison sentence. I’m tired of Christians making excuses as to why they can’t do this or that…..MAKE TIME!!! There’s an old saying that goes something along the lines of “Never before has a man stood so tall as when he was stooped down helping a child”!!! How true it is!!!
Remember this also….if you have school aged children and you turn your nose up at a group of kids just b/c of the neighborhood they live in…keep in mind that sooner or later your own children may come in contact with the child you snubbed!!! Just food for thought!!!
Lastly; Males(I won’t call you men)…if you are male enough to lay down with a woman and she happens to get pregnant do what you are supposed to do and HELP raise your child. Too many young kids running around without a father figure in their lives. Don’t keep making babies…..RAISE the ones you have!!!
