VGCC hosts seminar on Small Business Networking

The Vance-Granville Community College Small Business Center has scheduled a free seminar, entitled “Networking Tips That Can Grow Your Small Business,” on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the college’s Main Campus in Vance County.

In this seminar, Anita Hicks will teach participants why networking is important for small businesses, how to strategically network and grow their businesses, where to effectively network, and how to develop a winning “elevator pitch.” Attendees will discuss techniques and communication skills that they can apply to everyday business.

A Vance County native, Hicks is the President of AHU Business Training Solutions and a highly sought-after motivational speaker, entrepreneur coach, and host of a weekly motivational program with Les Brown. She has a B.A. degree in Business, ten years of business experience with IBM Corporation and twenty years of sales experience as a successful realtor.
