Oxford Prep to Hold 2nd Annual Mattress Sale Fundraiser

On Saturday, October 4th Paul Smith and The Mattress Center will sponsor a fundraiser to raise money for Oxford Preparatory High School to help fund the school’s athletic program. Smith, a 2006 graduate of J.F. Webb High School and former deputy sheriff with the Granville County Sheriff’s Department, is the president and owner of Mattress Center, Inc. with stores in Winston Salem and Raleigh.

The fundraiser will be held in Henderson at Superior Chrylser-Dodge-Jeep on US-158 from10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Smith will be there himself to answer all questions and guide customers in choosing the right mattress for their particular needs. Top quality mattresses including Simmons Beautyrest and Sealy Posturepedic will be offered. There will also be a display of Lifestyle adjustable bases with wireless and wired remote capabilities, as well as massage capability, and even bluetooth. Accessories offered will include Cool Gel memory foam pillows, mattress protectors, and metal bed frames. For the fundraiser, many of these products will be sold at prices too low to advertise.

“I hope people will take advantage of the opportunity to purchase a really comfortable mattress at a great price and help our students at the same time,” Smith said. “Everyone seemed to be extremely pleased with our last fundraiser, and I’m optimistic that this year we can do just as well.”

Customers will have a variety of payment options, including cash, check, and credit card, as well as six-month and twelve-month interest-free financing.”

This is not Smith’s first venture into community service. While still a student at J.F. Webb, he sponsored a baseball team for the Oxford Recreation Department through his company Paul Smith’s Lawn Care and Landscaping Services. Since moving to Winston-Salem, he has been a major supporter of the local food bank and donated coats, hats, and gloves for elementary school children who did not have them. Mattress Center has also sponsored successful fundraisers in the Winston Salem area.
