VGCC and Chamber partner for Health Care Reform discussion

The Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center, will present a “Lunch Break to Educate” seminar, called “Health Care Reform for Small Business, Season 2: What Have We Learned?” on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from noon until 1 p.m. in Room 7107 (Building 7) on VGCC’s Main Campus in Vance County. The purpose of this seminar is to give local business owners a complete update on the federal Affordable Care Act, which is about to begin its second year of full implementation. The new open enrollment season starts Nov. 15, 2014.

The facilitator for the discussion will be Mike Smith, regional sales executive with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Smith will help participants understand how the federal law and other changes will affect their bottom line, and he will provide information relating to individual and small group coverages for 2015.

The cost to attend the seminar is $10 per person, which includes lunch. For more information and to reserve a seat, contact Melanie Mann at (252) 438-8414 or info@hendersonvance.org. The deadline to RSVP is Oct. 2. Registration in advance is required to guarantee a lunch.
