Eric Pierce Is 2014-2015 Principal of the Year

Eric Pierce, long-time principal of Western Vance High School, has been selected as the Vance County Schools’ Principal of the Year for the second time in his career.

A special panel interviewed candidates for the district honor and chose Pierce for the prestigious recognition for the 2014-2015 school year. He was previously chosen as the VCS Principal of the Year in 2006-2007.

In addition to Pierce, finalists for the district Principal of the Year award this year were Anne Garrison of Zeb Vance Elementary School and Crystal Richardson of Clarke Elementary School.

Pierce succeeds Dr. Larry Webb, principal of Eaton-Johnson Middle School, as the district’s Principal of the Year. He will now represent the school system in the regional competition for N.C. Principal of the Year for 2014-2015.

He will be honored by the school system at a banquet on November 13.
