VGCC holds Google Plus seminar for Small Businesses

The Vance-Granville Community College Small Business Center has scheduled a free seminar, entitled “Enhancing Your Business Using No-Cost Features of Google+,” on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6 until 8 p.m. in Building 7 on the college’s Main Campus in Vance County.

Google+ (pronounced and sometimes written as “Google Plus”) is the second-largest social networking site in the world after Facebook.

In this seminar, instructor Paul Kaufman will explain why Google+ is a powerful tool that small business owners should add to their social media toolboxes. “Google+ can help you make connections with the right types of people, and using it will also add a highly visible profile to Google search results for your products, services and business,” Kaufman said. “The key to success in Google+ lies in understanding and mastering your ‘circles.’” Kaufman will cover topics including how to improve your local and mobile presences, Google+ versus Facebook, making the connection between Google+ and Google Maps, and how to use circles and communities.
