VGCC to host Gospel Celebration on Feb. 12


In honor of Black History Month, Vance-Granville Community College will hold a “Celebration of Gospel” on Thursday, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center on the college’s Main Campus in Vance County. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Among the entertainers and groups set to perform during the program are the North Carolina Central University Worship and Praise Inspirational Mass Choir; God’s Men of Harmony; the White Rock Missionary Baptist Church Liturgical Dance Ministry and “Divine Prerogative” mime ministry; the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church Choir and Community Fellowship Mass Choir; and “New Creation.”

The event is sponsored by the VGCC Division of Business and Applied Technologies. “Not only are we celebrating Black History Month through this special event, but we are also trying to bring the community and the college together in a spirit of fellowship,” said Steven Hargrove, VGCC Department Chair of Public Services.
