Health insurance workshop for Small Businesses to be held at VGCC

The Raleigh office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, in partnership with the Vance-Granville Community College Small Business Center and the Leder Firm, will soon present a free workshop on health care enrollment.

The event, which is open to any member of the community, is set for Wednesday, February 11, from 9 a.m. until noon, in room 7107 (Building 7) on VGCC’s Main Campus in Vance County. Welcoming remarks and a presentation are scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m., but attendees are free to stop by anytime during the three-hour period.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide information and assistance with signing up for health insurance as an individual, or as the owner or employee of a small business. Small business owners in particular can find out more about the rules for providing insurance to employees, about coverage for themselves, and about the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Marketplace.

Health care experts from the Leder Firm, an independent insurance agency, will be available to guide attendees through the enrollment process, answer any questions and even enroll attendees on the spot.

Spanish-speaking agents will be available.

Anyone interested in attending can register online at www.ncsbc.net/workshop.aspx?ekey=530350007 but walk-ins are also welcome.
