Based on the seating assignments for today’s special called meeting of our county commissioners I will speculate they intended to interview one of more candidates for the open county manager job. The meeting was a closed door session for a personnel matter. Five of the commissioners considered today’s meeting worthy of their time and attention. One commissioner who did not attend has been absence from all meetings since November without a public announcement explaining his absence. Another commissioner who is so busy, attending to his state responsibilities, also did not attend today’s meeting; maybe because this commissioner knows the candidate(s) are not the one.
Well if said commisioner can’t do his job then he needs to pay back the $$$ for past 3 months!! If memory serves me correct he has a history of being delinquent…guess it’s in the water in Vance County that some folks think they deserve $$$ for simply doing nothing! How’s the unemployment situation doing in the “good ole boy” County of Vance?
Commissioners held another closed door meeting for a personnel matter today. Just before the meeting started Commissioner Brown made the observation that same four who took their time to attend yesterday’s meeting were present today. How sad for the county. Two commissioners made no effort to participate. One for reason(s) unknown. One because his personal aspiration placed interviewing for a new county manager as second.
Summation – two candidates for the county manager position have been interviewed.
How sad and disgusting that the commissioners continue to be reelected.. No serve–no pay–do your job, in my opinion.
I agree. If you have a health situation that does not allow you to serve, do the honorable thing and allow someone else to actually SERVE the district’s constituents.
