A most unusual childbearing event in medical history occurred in Lima, Peru on this date 76 years ago, which in 1939 happened to be Mothers Day. A boy was delivered by caesarian section, but that’s not the uncommon part. What was unique is that the mother, Lina Medina, was just over five and a half years old. For a time, this extraordinary story was believed to be a hoax, but it was quickly confirmed. How Lina Medina was impregnated has never been established, as she never spoke of it. She had other children in more traditional childbearing years, and reportedly is still living in Peru at age 81. While not as medically astonishing, in the U.S. today, there are about a quarter-million births every year by women between the ages of 15 and 19. I had the opportunity to visit a local Court Room in the 9th District today. This was better entertainment that watching Comedy Central on television. Not only was the Judge(a female) late for Court…she came into the Courtroom at 9:40. What do you think would have happened had she been on time and someone on the docket came in at 9:40 and they had already called their name…They would have been called out for “No Show” and an order for arrest would have been issued and they would have gotten another charge for Failing to Appear. Nice example this particular female Judge is setting!!
When will the voters realize that in order to clean up things in Henderson,Oxford,Franklin and Warren Counties they are going to have to elect some people who are Professional and don’t let their jobs go to their heads!! This Judge was laughable b/c she did more “preaching” than she did applying the LAW…..I thought I was in a Courtroom…not a Church!!!
I am in the process of typing a letter to the BAR to explain the situations of today’s fiasco in the 9th District. You want to know why so many people charged with crimes walk away with a slap on the wrist? Visit a local Courtroom and you won’t have to wonder any longer. If that’s the best Judge that District 9 has to offer….we’re in bad shape and the criminals are laughing all the way to your house waiting for you to go to work so they can break in!!!
Am I wrong to expect a JUDGE to be on the Bench on time? Court starts at 9:30!!!! Someone may need to remind her since it’s not the first time I have witnessed this Judge start Court 10-15 minutes late!!!
