On Thursday, June 11, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Section executed a search warrant at 264 Kittrell Street, Henderson. During the search, officers located marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and counterfeit U. S. currency.
Montrel Closs, 26, 264 Kittrell Street was charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and/or deliver marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, felonious possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for keeping/selling a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of counterfeit currency.
Closs was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 65,000.00 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Vance County District Court on June 22, 2015.
Don’t feel bad Mr. Closs………the Oxford Ledger reported that an elected official in Granville County has been arrested for Drug Charges and was placed under a $35,000 bond!!!! How dumb can one person be? Publius…..can you answer that one for me?
I notice that the Granville County Sheriff’s Dept. patrols I-85 at various points nearly the entire portion of I-85 that runs through Granville County. Does Vance County do this? I remember one time when the your former Police Chief(SIdwell I think) was very into doing this proactive policing and I have counted many cars pulled over on the side of I-85 with the trunks open and sometimes even the hoods open. Not to mention the search that was taking place with a Police Dog. That’s being proactive and not reactive. That goes a long way in reducing Crime but until both Granville & Vance County get some jobs into the area that pay LIVING WAGES and not a minimum wage then Drugs will never go away in either county. It’s pretty sad when a person who works 40+ hours a week has to go to the Dept. of Social Services in order to get assistance for Food, Health, Housing or things such as getting some help paying the Light Bill!!! That’s WRONG!!! If these lazy people who are capable of working would get off their porches and get a job then they wouldn’t be draining the DSS $$$ so much that someone who is actually trying to make something of their lives would have a chance to get some help!!!
The Govt. was supposed to help those who can’t help themselves not the ones who are too lazy to work in a Pie Factory tasting pies. If a family has been on Govt. Assistance for longer than 2 generations I say it’s WAY PAST TIME TO MAKE THEM GO TO WORK!!! They can volunteer at a school or another Non-Profit Organization and that way they can at least work for what the Govt. is giving them. If NC could investigate Fraud within the DSS it would save so much $$$$ they could hire 10+ people to work in the Fraud Dept. alone. I just left a well known grocery store chain in Oxford and a rather healthy female had a cart full of Junk Food and T-Bone Steaks as well as some frozen shrimp. Told her female companion that they were going to cook for somebody’s birthday. The total was well over $300 and guess what method was used to pay for the Steaks and Shrimp……..if you guessed the Good Ole’ Red/White/Blue Card you would be correct. The irony of the story was she was talking on an I-Phone that I’m pretty sure wasn’t cheap!!!! Guess it’s better to know how to beat the system than to try to help “fix” the system!!! For those of you who have grandchildren let’s hope the USA and the FEDERAL GOVT. one day sends a message that their is NO FREE RIDE in the USA but the USA and the FEDERAL GOVT. will help anyone who is willing to help themselves!!!
The car they got into(parked in a Handicapped Space) had rims that would have easily paid for her groceries. Priorities? Yeah Right!!!!
Decept, ya talking to me or yourself?
Publius the best way to predict future behavior is past behavior and you seemingly have all the answers……well you have your answers….mostly wrong(but they’re yours)!!
Up early for your trip to Hardees this morning.
