Arrest Made in Attempted Murder

On Thursday, July 2, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department responded to 1141 East Andrews Avenue in Henderson in response to someone being shot. When officers arrived, they found Ronald Williams, 37, 1923 Nicholas Street, Henderson suffering from a gunshot wound. Williams was transported by emergency service personnel to Maria Parham Medical Center for treatment.

On Monday, July 6, 2015, David Lee Davis, 42, 151 Burwell Avenue, Henderson surrendered himself to investigator’s with the Henderson Police Department. Davis was charged with one count of attempted first degree murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and one count of discharging a firearm inside the city limits.

Davis was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 250,000.00 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Vance County District Court on July 21, 2015.

Update:  On Friday, October 9, 2015, a member of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division arrested Orlando Gibbs. Gibbs, 41, 4327 Warrenton Road, Henderson was charged with the following offenses: Attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and discharging a firearm in the city limits. Gibbs was released from custody after posting a 250,000.00 secured bond.
