Please be informed that the Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, August 18 at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Conference Room. The purpose is to enter into closed session to discuss a personnel matter.

Mikey…..looks as if this may be the meeting to announce your new County Manager. Since the Fire Chief has announced his retirement within the next month or so let the search begin for that position as well. If only the private industry in Vance County had as many job openings as the local government agencies have had over the past 6-9 months. Oh….I forgot…many private industries have packed their bags and left town or are in the process of packing their bags.

Publius….you remind me of a movie I once saw called “Grumpy Old Men”. Do you wake up in the morning and kick your dog or cat b/c they just happen to be ‘in the line of fire’? Certainly nobody in their right mind can be so MAD at the world. Why don’t you take out some of your frustrations on the city/county you reside in and attempt to make a difference. You don’t have to be too smart or have any qualifications…..just look at who you have in the elected positions. Certainly it has got to be a very miserable life when seemingly the 1st thing you do daily(if you don’t have pets) is run to HiH and see what I’ve posted so that you can bash my posts. If only you would put your talents(if you have any) into making that dump you call home a better place for others to live & work. But that would take too much energy wouldn’t it? It’s easier just to log onto HiH and bash what I have posted. You humor me ole’ man!! Ever thought of doing stand-up comedy?
