LOUISBURG, N.C.— The Krasnoyarsk National Dance Company of Siberia will perform at the Seby B. Jones Performing Arts Center on the Louisburg College campus at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28. This show displays more than 200 costumes, superb choreography of dances from different regions of Russia and Siberia, and unforgettable music in a must-see event that features 45 dancers. The company’s performances have been enjoyed in more than 70 countries around the world. The National Dance Company of Siberia has endless energy, wonderful traditions of folkloric choreography, and beautiful music scores that have brought them international respect and appreciation.
Their program, which starts with the company’s trademark dance “My Siberia,” takes the audience on an incredible musical journey of the gorgeous Siberian region. The Washington Post wrote in its article under the heading “Russian Folk Dance” that “the Russian folk dances seemed broader and more effective than the dances of any other country, due to their choreography and cultural traditions. The Company’s dancers are wonderfully trained professionals.” The article added that “…words fail to express the deep impression created by the beautiful figures, swift movements, gorgeous costumes, and virtuoso performance including the smooth, gliding dances of the girls, the remarkable jumps and pirouettes of the male dancers. This was not just a good performance. This was A GREAT SHOW!”
This special community concert is free to the public. Complimentary tickets are available at the Louisburg College box office, which is located in the main lobby of the JPAC. Box Office hours are Monday through Friday from 1-5 p.m., and one and a half hours before showtime. For more info, call 866.773.6354, or go to www.jpacarts.com/siberia
