| One of my greatest joys and highest honors is to represent the noble men and women stationed at Fort Bragg. Veterans Day is just one day set aside to pay our respects to those who have served and allows us to pay tribute to the many who continue to serve us overseas. I am grateful for their selflessness and the sacrifices they have made in order to keep us safe and protected here at home. God bless these men and women.
There were many Veterans Day celebrations that took place around the Second District this week, including a parade in Asheboro and a touching Veterans Day ceremony held in Harnett County. The front lawn of the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville was even decked out with flags in honor of our service members. To further honor our military members, the Governor’s Office held a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony to celebrate the new NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. This facility will make such a difference in working to assist our military communities including Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune and the thousands of veterans who call our great state “home.” This facility will assist both active duty personnel and veterans in finding jobs, acquiring benefits and will be a resource that is ready and able to assist our men and women as they return home.
