Vance-Granville Community College held its first-ever Health Sciences Career Fair in December at the college’s South Campus in Granville County. The event was organized by the VGCC Career Services department and Health Sciences division to help students in health-related programs to meet potential employers and explore career options.

Participating health care facilities included Murdoch Developmental Center of Butner, Hillside Nursing Center of Wake Forest, Granville Health System of Oxford, Central Regional Hospital of Butner, and VCU Community Memorial Hospital of South Hill, Va. Representatives talked to students about their career aspirations and accepted their resumes. Some even conducted interviews on site.

Attendees included 84 students from VGCC’s Nursing, Radiography, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technology, Human Services Technology, Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy programs. In addition, students from Granville Early College High School attended to learn more about future career pathways.
