First Day of Classes at E.M. Rollins Elementary School.

The 2017-2018 school year officially began on August 1, with the first day of classes at E.M. Rollins Elementary School.

Approximately 400 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade will be attending the STEAM Academy at E.M. Rollins, which operates this year as the first year-round school in our public school system.

The STEAM Academy will provide new and innovative project-based learning experiences for its students this year. The school opens with a new MakerSpace classroom, science laboratory, mathematics laboratory, computer laboratory and fully-equipped music room. The school’s focus will be on project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

The STEAM Academy’s theme for this year is “Inspiring the Future  . . .  Different by Design!”
