The Vance County Board of Education has appointed Ronald E. Gregory as the next Superintendent of Schools for the Vance County Public School System. Gregory has been serving as the Interim Superintendent of the school system since May 1. He will be sworn into office by District Court Judge J. North Carolina Average Crime Rates Drop, Vance County Climbs
While North Carolina’s average state wide crime rate dropped 5.6%, Vance County’s crime rate increased 16.5% according from 2009 to the 2010 reporting period just published by the state Attorney General. Violent crime in Vance County went down approximately 12%, while property crime went up approximately 19%. This raises Vance County to be the highest crime rate per capita county in North Carolina.
