Seems all the buzz surrounds Mr. Weiner’s admission that he did send naughty pictures to a 21 year old college girl. I did enjoy listening to some of his entertaining speeches on the floor in the past, but does this necessitate people calling for his resignation? He did lie about it outright, but maintains that he did nothing illegal. Even if Weiner’s statements were accurate about no House or legal violations, under the “Official Code of Conduct” for lawmakers and staffers, there is a catch-all clause that has been used to investigate and sometimes punish members. The provision states: “A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.”
We welcome your take on this and more on today’s Open Line….
County Attorney’s Report – Redistricting
If you were not in attendance at tonight’s Commissioner’s meeting (the public part not the part where Big money and his PR guy held sway) you missed one of the those rare times. The County Attorney’s Report was something others should emulate, fact filled, accurate and able to answer questions. Mr. Care, pointed out that results of the 2010 Census dictate that County District lines will be re-drawn for the first time since 1990. With this revelation you could see the affect of sphincter lock across the faces of the Commissioners. Three went immediately into hide mode. That is where you put your hand in front of your mouth to hide your reaction yet to look thoughtful. The Chair polled the Commissioners starting with Commissioner Wilder for each one’s idea to Mr. Care’s three suggestions. Commissioner Wilder favored a sub-committee to review the data and report back to the Commissioners. I thought Commissioner Hester was going to jump up and do a dance of approval he was so elated with Commissioner Wilder’s suggestion. Commissioner Garrison was unable to make a commitment to any of the three suggestions. He had to be told those where the three choices, yet he was unable to make a commitment to any unless he had allies. Commissioner Pegram’s response was a classic. Something like this, ‘I’ve been here all my life. These things come and go. I’m not worried about it.’ Commissioner Brummitt was first to speak opposite to Commissioner Wilder’s suggestion and he was not looking around for allies. Mr. Asycue realizing the cheese has been moved concurred with Commissioner Brummitt’s suggestion that the entire Commission should meet and plan the new district lines. Commissioner Hester seeing he might be drawing a short stick suggested they do their dirty work in a work session, in other words behind closed doors. Commissioner Brummitt won the day gaining consensus from the Commissioners that they would work together on drawing the new lines. Commissioner Wilder had one additional comment, that the new lines should be straighter than the old lines.
Thank you Mr. Asycue, you successfully posted the Commissioner’s meeting agenda to the County’s web-site three consecutive times. One can only wonder when the full agenda packet will be on the web-site before the meeting.
The fourth point on the Commission’s published agenda is titled County Manager’s Report sub-topic Electronic Waste. Mr. Asycue informed the Commissioners that the County has a contract for disposing electronic waste such as used computers and TVs that needs the Commissioners approval. The company Mr. Asycue named was American GEEP also known as GEEP Global Electronic Processing.
http://recyclecomputerelectronics.com/services/geep-services/
http://www.geepglobal.com/Default.aspx
According to Mr. Asycue, GEEP will take our County’s electronic waste for recycling at no cost to the county. And they will guarantee that data on hard drives will be erased for free.
Commissioner Wilder asked are they bonded and how can they guarantee that data is erased. Mr. Asycue stumbled and mumbled and basically did not know the answer to those two questions. Commissioner there are a few generally accepted steps to assure that all data is erased from any electronic media. These include writing 9s, 0s, 1s three times across all sectors of the disk or length of the tape, then degaussing the media, machine grinding the media, and for the most sensitive data incinerate the ground media. Commissioner Brown asked how can they do this for free. Mr. Asycue was again without an understandable answer. I think part of the answer is the metals in the electronics. The plastics have low recycle value. Large volumes of electronics (computers and TVs) could produce sufficient amounts of rare earth metals, specialized steels and aluminum, and other high value elements (gold, platinum, etc) to make this a viable recycle option. Additionally the their labor cost could be very low, based on the message that displays when you use Google Maps (Satellite view) to locate Geep on Weck Drive, Durham, NC.
“i’ve been here all my life’ , classic ! Thanks Michael.
Is that editor Phil’s opinion that Weiner did nothing wrong and should not resign or is that someone else’s opinion piece to comment on?
I think the world was a better place when the media conspired to keep sexual peccadilloes out of the public discourse. There’s so much more at stake than what Weiner did with his eponymous member. All this does is take attention away from the substance of what government does and impede any chance of having a healthy democracy again. Jefferson had two families and still found time to make the Louisiana Purchase. Benjamin Franklin funded the Revolutionary War by appearing in the boudoirs of wealthy French ladies in nothing but his coonskin cap. Martin Van Buren was the ******* son of a prostitute. Grover Cleveland married his ward while in office. FDR womanized while his wife carried on a long-term committed relationship with a woman. JFK bagged Marilyn Monroe and got the Russian missiles off of Cuba. Worst of all, Andrew Jackson couldn’t spell to save his life. The public was generally unaware of these things at the time, and for the life of me I cannot see how it affected their contribution (good, bad, or indifferent) to American governance.
The above is a mixture of my setup, and another articles snippet that begins from “Even if Weiner’s statements were accurate” to the end of my post. I’m not sure where I pulled that from, but it was worded it nicely so I didn’t change it.
Doing something ‘wrong’ is not the same as doing something ‘illegal’. His statement is that he did nothing illegal. Do I think he did wrong? Yes, especially by adamantly denying it and blaming ‘hackers’ for the leak. I couldn’t care less if he sent pictures of Mr Weiner’s namesake to some girls, that’s a personal decision he made and he’ll have to answer to his wife for that, not you or me. If he did not want to admit it he should have clearly told those in the media and elsewhere asking questions that it was none of their business. But because he lied and tried to say another story is where he did ‘wrong’ in my book.
PS. Please don’t assume that anything I post in the open lines are my opinion. I’m only trying to post conversation starters, and I try to make them open ended for you guys.
PPS. Great write up Michael Bobbitt!
Here is a summary of the high points during Monday tonight’s County Commissioner’s monthly meeting. The single most significant event of tonight’s meeting was at the conclusion of the public part of the meeting. Mr. Edward Blue, American Legion Post 60, presented a Gold Star Flag to Commissioner Deborah Brown. Next time you see Ms. Brown tell her thanks; her family has given the maximum to this Nation.
(Note to the reader, this was the first of my three posting to HiH regarding the County Commissioner’s Monday night meeting. For whatever reason the original posting did not stick. I felt it important enough that I would post it again.)
MS…just my opinion, but it might help if someone at the shelter made sure the answering machine was on, messages checked and returned before *******.
especially after an adoptathon where people expressed interest in adopting an animal.
what a shame.
the problem with Anthony Weiner is that he tried to implicate others by accusing them of hacking his account. (a felony)
and it was more then 1 21 year old girl.
Further, it’s being said he used his staff to try and cover it up.
it seemed to be important to Nancy Pelosi when a Republican Congressman from New York sent pictures of himself without his shirt, to call for HIS resignation.
which he did.
but for Weiner…a Democrat, she calls for an Ethics Committee investigation, which could take years, as it did with Charlie Rangal.
and he’s still there.
Weiner did much more then the Congressman from NY did…and word is that is more coming out.
ironically, Anthony Weiner, in 2007, co-authored a bill to devoid the internet of sexual predators.
at any rate…these are just some of the reasons that congress has a lower approval rating then used car salesmen..
as Jason posted, there are more important issues to deal with then sleazy behavior.
but it does show a lack of judgement.
However,, I don’t see the point of debasing past presidents and founding fathers in order to give a pass to a sitting Congressman who is an admitted liar.
Thanks Michael.
I like your commentary.
Ziggy, the fact that you feel I debased past presidents and founding fathers *is* my point. I did not “debase” them, as you say. I simply told the truth about them. It doesn’t affect the good or ill that that they did, but for some reason, it seems to take the bloom off of the rose. My question remains: why does it matter?
Just got back from the Virginia Pork Festival and, other than it being held in a furnace, it was great as usual. Wish I could have brought some of it back with me (the beer, not the pork!) Saw a bunch of people from Htown there.
Oh, and Mr. Weiner was aptly named, huh?
Jason, you forgot to mention the man who was in more than one way the father of our nation. His illegitimate son of a slave from Jamaican has his picture on the 10 spot. ziggy history is our teacher.
yes, history can be a teacher.
IF applied wisely.
Sometimes discretion IS the better part of valor.
If not taught wisely, history has a way of repeating itself.
in Egypt, the Muslim *********** is forming a new **** party, and the membership grows steadily.
(if the censor deletes, it was the party that was head of the Third Reich.)
in Turkey, a version of Mein Kampf has been released and is becoming a best seller there.
“Never again”?
Why have any moral or ethical standards for our elected officials? Weiner said he wasn’t positive that all of his contacts were adults but that shouldn’t matter. And those Founding Fathers were just a bunch of dumb white guys, get that bloom off that rose. Glad the ex editor isn’t teaching my kids.
Dagny: “And those Founding Fathers were just a bunch of dumb white guys”….I thought you had more common sense than that. We live in the country they created. I believe that some amount of thanks is due to them. Afterall, had they not persevered, you would not be enjoying the freedoms you have today. Neither would I. If that is how you classify those who started our great nation, then I hope you children are learning well in school and not getting their history lessons at home.
I think Dagny was being sarcastic.
ziggy, what are you saying in post 15? What does history can be a teacher IF applied wisely mean? This might makes sense if applied and knowledge meant the same. They don’t. Basically, your posting is a jumble of nonsense.
By the way I there are 14 different publication of Mein Kampf listed on Amazon. Some are translated into English. I didn’t see one in Turkish.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/mar/29/turkey.books
think twice before calling me a liar again.,
jumble of nonsense?
why? because I don’t buy into YOUR jibberish?
Phil…I am still not seeing any posting numbers.
is it on my end?
ziggy, your posting 20 has a link to a news article that is more than 7 years old. An excellent example of using misinformation to rail against a particular group of people. I did not see the book referenced in the 7 year old article listed on Amazon.
Dagny: You’ve totally missed the point. That makes two of us who are glad I’m not teaching your kids.
No, I did get your point completely. Weiner and the Founding Fathers are all on the same level in your mind. You don’t find the Founding Fathers to be great men in history or the country they created to be exceptional and good. They are on the same level as the boorish Weiner that has done nothing but disgrace his office and Congress.
My kids would drive you nuts, I’m sure.
Dagny: For Heaven’s sake, read what I wrote. You are putting words in my mouth.
1) I listed the flaws in the personal lives of past American politicians. I did not comment on their quality, good or bad.
2) I did not offer any comments about the quality of this country.
3) I did not equate anyone I discussed with the Founders or anyone else.
4) I’m not defending the Weiner guy at all.
Jason, post 25, it is hopeless to explain things to the closed minded. It’s like teaching a pig to fly, you are only wasting your time and annoying the pig.
If Dagney knew any facts that were not fed to them by propogandist this might be a discussion . The problem we have is the propoganda is so overwhelming that people no longer think for themselves , they just regurgitate the nonsense they hear . This is the sad legacy our founding fathers feared . Influence would take over the monetary system , then the press and Govt . Sadly it has happened and we have a larger fight than if we had protected our liberties for the last 98 years . I , personally am exilerated that I am not locked to either side . “I do not want to be in that group”. Left Or Right , You will be veiwed as a menace to the Constitution you claim to want to re-establish . Hang tough Jason , we in the middle “60%” know what you are saying .
Mr. Weiner could indeed be be breaking the law if his internet history show he has sent pictures over the internet to underage kids. Weiner isn’t very bright–he didn’t have a “neutral” background –there were identifiable photos!
He should resign.
Now Edwards wants more time to prepare for his Federal trial–and also to delay the sex tape deposition until after the Federal trial.
Anonymous…who are you calling a pig?
and WHO is close minded?
if someone doesn’t have your point of view, they are close minded?
Tim…what “propaganda” are you referring to in THIS context?
Out of curiosity, I did a quick search about Turkey and found links to newspapers.
The article is from a Turkish newspaper/English version, article date: 2009.
http://bit.ly/cJX1G
I have waited several minutes for my post to appear so I could edit it.
It’s very possible that there are people in Turkey who read Mein Kampf for the same reason many Americans do…curiosity.
However, we cannot ignore “history”.
It is a fact that some Muslims and Islamic countries did support the Third Reich during WW2.
If this philosophy is gaining popularity in the Muslim world, or anywhere else, it is a matter of concern, at least to some people.
I find it odd that by merely posting information,(without commentary) someone jumps to a conclusion and the poster of the information is attacked and demeaned.
Is civil discussion not possible?
Liberals want to claim they are being persecuted when you try to have a rational exchange of ideas. Jason brought up the Founding Fathers, saying that they did things as well, only it wasn’t publicized, so why go after Weiner. Then someone says I am a pig for defending the Founding Fathers and believing Weiner should resign and politicians should have some moral standards.
Tim says I don’t have intelligent ideas and am just propogandized, no facts to support this, but when I have tried to pin him down on his vague ideas in the past, he also played the misunderstood victim. He is not used to being challenged. I have heard him make baseless and slanderous comments about people in the community on the radio and questioned those assertions, also. There comes a point when you have to wonder when someone proudly says they are “in the middle of the road” but in past posts claims that Pastor Dowell has the all the answers, complete with a link of angry rambling. I don’t believe Tim is conservative or middle of the road but has many radically liberal/socialist beliefs. And when you go on the radio once a week and say those things and have that audience, you can’t hide under a rock when someone wants to debate you.
Ziggy, let’s do lunch.
Ziggy, do you still think Dagney was just being sarcastic? Me neither.
I got curious about the Mein Kampf issue and did a little research.
I posted a new article from a Turkish newspaper.
The article said that the book was banned in 2007, but was still being sold in second hand book stores, and remained popular.
The article appeared in 2009.
I guess Phil didn’t want to let it post.
Hmmmm?
Also, there is an election going on in Turkey this weekend.
The candidate who seems to be in the lead is spouting anti-Jewish/anti-Israel rhetoric.
BANANA REPUBLIC – i see a link in your comment #31 was it the link you are referring at your comment number #35?
Dagney , as you stated I am on the radio once a week . Is that hiding ? I have posted my phone number numerous times , Is that hiding ? I post under my own name , Is that hiding ? What are you 5 ?
Add a 0.
You deliberately say and post vague things and then get hot under the collar when someone tries to make you clarify what you mean, you just did it. For instance, what does “Influence would take over the monetary system , then the press and Govt .” mean? Influence is used as a noun and I have no clue what that sentence is supposed to mean. And Ziggy asked what “Propoganda” has so over whelmed me that I can’t think for myself? Do you still think Pastor Dowell has all the answers?
Thanks for the response.
BANANA REPLUBIC your initial link was caught by spam filter for the german dictator word, i had to change the link so it would pass
Holy crap Zagney , You twisteth but you can not call in . You are so predictable , I can be reached at 252-213-3701 . Stop being a punk . My name is Tim McAllister . My home phone is 252-438-4192 . Saddle up sissy !!!!!!!!!!
Babe21: Yes, that is the link.
please note the time of the posts.
There was a very long moderation lag time, as Phil Hart explained in his post #39,
Phil, I understand what you mean. The original link was longer and did have some “alert” words in it.
Thanks for changing the link so it would get through.
Tim, Dagny is right, You sure do not like it when your comments are challenged. YOU are so predictable.
Instead of having a civil debate, you fall into name calling.
Are YOU 5?
I have heard you on the radio and have seen your postings here.
Your views are all over the place.
I gave up listening to the radio and your obvious bias, week after week.
Your post #27 doesn’t seem to follow the discussion and is confusing, and at it’s start is an attack.
What IS your point?
What IS wrong with Dagny’s viewpoint?
and I’d also like to know what propaganda you’re referring to.
With all due respect to Tim, he is not a congenial host on Town Talk. He talks down to callers, talks over them, changes the subject on them and on himself. I would never call in when Tim is the host. It is enough of a frustrating waste of time listening to others who do call in and try to carry on an intelligent conversation.
As for men in positions of public “trust,” or any man for that matter: past present or future who cheats on his wife: it does matter. It matters a lot. Men who do that are revealing their basic dishonesty and arrogance. You can trace a lot of what’s wrong with society to this kind of irresponsible behavior. I’m glad my kids were never taught by anybody who thinks this doesn’t matter. Thank goodness for those of us who are in the Other 60%.
I did not say that infidelity does not matter. I rendered an opinion that it was irrelevant to the legislative process and tends to upstage more important matters of governance, nothing more.
If the “legislative process” were an entity unto itself, devoid of human factors, I might agree with you. But the “legislative process” involves human beings making legislative decisions. An individual who has demonstrated the character flaws of selfishness, disloyalty, arrogance, and — above all — dishonesty — in making the decision to cheat on his wife: the one person and the one relationship in his life that should be more important to him than any other — will demonstrate his character flaws in other ways. Those flaws are part of the fabric of his being. Compartmentalizing his dishonest actions in his personal life from the actions in his governing decisions is a myth, Clinton’s reported ability to do so notwithstanding. Such a person cannot be trusted not to cheat on his constituents.
I will go so far as to say that some very good and brilliant men have had flawed characters, men that you have named: Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. In both cases, their finer natures governed the decisions they made for the good of the country.
The same cannot be said of any of the flawed public characters of the recent past.
I find your argument compelling and well-articulated. Why did you feel the need to impugn me in my profession over this?
Why won’t Tim answer the questions?
*He can’t expand on his riddles because liberal elitists don’t think propogandized simpletons could ever comprehend their deep thoughts and opinions.
*He thinks he can intimidate me better over the phone and wants to switch forums from the one we are on to continue the discussion.
*The powers that be at the radio station might figure out he isn’t the moderate, middle of the road guy he portrays himself to be.
*He knows he can’t defend his opinions if they are debated based on fact and reason.
Which is it or a combination of all?
Work prevents me from calling in or listening this Thursday but he could specifically answer the questions then about propoganda, influence and Pastor Dowell if he is more comfortable in that setting.
47. My saying,”I’m glad my kids were never taught by anybody who thinks this doesn’t matter” was in agreement with Dagny’s post saying the same thing. I don’t think a teacher who believes these things don’t matter can keep that belief from creeping into his general attitude. Kids have ultra-radar for these things. Next to parents, teachers are their role models. And I believe that is what has gone seriously awry in education and in our American society … liberal-minded educators who impart a belief that a relativistic morality is acceptable. My intention was not to impugn you personally, or to tell you how to think. But again, I’m glad my kids were not taught by someone who thinks as you do.
Being on the right politicly does not mean you are correct . You will not believe anything that does not come from your view . Facts don’t matter only the twisting of facts to suit your beliefs . You are easy to spot and predictable . Everyone who disagrees with you is a liberal or speaks down to you or over you blah blah blah . Your veiwpoint is overwhelming on talk radio but the media is liberal . You always claim victimhood but come out in force when questioned . You claim the party of the Constitution but want to take away freedoms of people who do not agree with you . If someone disagrees with gigantic corporations they are antibusiness . What about there influence over the govt. ? What about lobbying , is that Constitutional ? How did the Founding Fathers feel about corporations ? I know how they felt but there is no sense in telling you , you would not believe it . I enjoy my children being taught by teachers who encourage free thought . Conformity is not freedom . I believe in freedom even for people on the right .
All I am trying to say is that the press and the public should pay more attention to the process of government and less attention to the private lives of members of government. I do not condone Rep. Weiner’s actions. In fact, I condemn them. I do not suffer from “moral relativism” as Lucy van Pelt describes. I have a very clear sense of right and wrong.
I think my original point has degenerated into an ad hominim attack and, as such, it is not a discussion I want to continue.
I dont agree with Jason but saying that he isn’t a good teacher isn’t fair just because you don’t agree with him. At least he has the guts to say what he thinks without hiding behind his computer.
We silly, brainwashed conservatives need to learn how to sit down, shut up and just let the liberals have their way as they are used to. They get predictably offended when challenged. But they have exposed themselves, just like Weiner, well maybe not just like Weiner, in the preceding posts.
Anon2, I didn’t say Jason was a bad teacher. I said I am glad my kids were not taught by someone who thinks as he does. As for your saying ‘at least he has the guts to say what he thinks without hiding behind his computer,’ that is an interesting comment coming from someone who signs him- or herself as Anon2.
Jason, if that is all you are saying, then I agree with you to a point. But I do believe that the manner in which an elected representative conducts himself (generic pronoun) in private life does have a bearing on whether or not the public can trust him to conduct himself as his job requires on their behalf and therefore, as responsible citizens we have a duty to pay attention to private life behavior that is blatantly dishonest.
Tim: I believe you should be, say, and do all that you are and can be on your own time, including here on HiH. But when you are hosting Town Talk, you are have a job to do which, in my opinion, requires that you focus on what your guests are saying. Have more consideration for your callers. Have you ever listened to one of your hosting gigs on tape? If you put yourself in the place of a caller and distanced yourself from yourself, you might see what I am saying.
Conservatives if that is what you claim as a label have never been quiet . I read Jasons and the pig anology twice just to be sure and cannot understand your point in either . You really have to have a victim mentality to read them as some of you have . Ziggy you know exactly what propaganda I was refering to with dagney . Ms Van Pelt , I listen to a ton of Talk Radio and When I disagree with someone most times I’ll let them finish . Sometimes its just too much . I can not say the same for most call in hosts I have listened to . I think its what I stand for that irritates the right so any reason is good enough for them . Some have gone so far as to call George and complain and pull advertising on Thursday when I am on . Then say the same things on here and give themselves away . The things you learn in a small town , go figure .
It is an advertiser’s right to spend his dollars where he pleases. That is the free market. When a host makes ugly and baseless comments about fellow citizens, and the local business community in general, he should expect some fall out.
It is illogical to say that business of any size has harmed the country. Only businesses can create tax revenue and jobs. When you rail against large business, you ignore the stock holders, employees and vendors the business trades with. When large businesses like GM took bailouts, they didn’t take the money from the tax payers. The government intervened and took the money from the tax payers and redistributed it to those businesses and yet no blame is ever laid on big government, only the lying and cheating business owners. How about some blame on the unions, that were paid before bond holders in that bail out. Conservatives, you can’t say Republicans, didn’t want anything to do with bail outs. Let those businesses fail or reorganize with out the crippling union bargains, again the free market is solving the issue naturally.
Agreed, there is much to be learned in a small town.
The comment you continuously refer to was not baseless and you know it . I do not recall ever attacking the local business community in general or otherwise . Once again you have a problem with the truth . Not the first time you have done this to me . I rail at the Govt. local state and federal all the time , if you ever listened you would know that , but I think you do know and just have nothing left . Grab your guns and barricade the basement , I hear the Iranians are only minutes away from a nuke .
Dagny posted :
“…. When large businesses like GM took bailouts, they didn’t take the money from the tax payers. The government intervened and took the money from the tax payers and redistributed it to those businesses and yet no blame is ever laid on big government, only the lying and cheating business owners.”
BINGO!
This is what I’ve been saying and posting for some time now.
Business represents it’s own survival, and the good of stockholders, as it should.
Our “Representatives” in Congress (on both sides of the aisle) are supposed to represent US, not themselves, which is what they have been doing.
While it’s true that they are plagued constantly by lobbyists of all sorts, the reason they are is because the lobbyists have found our representatives to be weak and spineless and generous with taxpayer money. They’ve sold us out for votes and re-elections.
If they had the backbone and ethics to “just say NO!” (en masse), it’s possible the lobbyists would learn our Congress is not for sale.
Tim…you’re always harping about “labels” while you consistently make assumptions about conservatives as a group.
You express your bias against Republicans and Conservatives every week.
This in itself “labels” you as someone on the left.
It’s so second nature to you that you might not even realize you’re doing it.
your quote:
“Being on the right politically does not mean you are correct . You will not believe anything that does not come from your view . Facts don’t matter only the twisting of facts to suit your beliefs . You are easy to spot and predictable”
try this:
“Being on the LEFT politically does not mean you are correct . You will not believe anything that does not come from your view . Facts don’t matter only the twisting of facts to suit your beliefs . You are easy to spot and predictable”
Why would any Republican or Conservative want to listen to you constantly attacking them…it’s a turn off for many.
But you have the right to express yourself as you please on TT, and the people you insult can continue not to listen.
The propaganda I asked you about was in regard to the ongoing discussion about the Founding Fathers.
Your first post (#27) was out of context and off topic.
Re-read the posts, and you might understand why I asked what propaganda you were referring to.
It APPEARS you are accusing Dagny of being propagandized because of his admiration for the Founding Fathers.
Dagny…Dittos.
Lucy… Dittos.
Banana Republic…thanks. and Dittos.
Wow, guys, I’m impressed. 59 posts. HiH is picking up again. Glad Jason can post again. I get that you were just saying the news sensationalizes peccadilloes, but I’m kinda glad they do. Otherwise we’d have pretty boy Edwards for president.
