Fun Embassy fact of the day

The big Embassy Square event next week won’t be a groundbreaking after all.

The official term now is “construction celebration ceremony.”

That’s the wording on the invitation, which City Manager Eric Williams said will be going out to about 600 people. Don’t worry if your invitation gets lost in the mail; the ceremony, at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 1, is open to the public.

The star of the show, of course, is Sen. Elizabeth Dole, whose mere presence is expected to draw “many other distinguished guests, political and otherwise,” Williams wrote in an e-mail message.

We can’t wait to see what they, well, get to see next week. (Check out a sneak preview. The parking lot is looking good.) City Engineer Frank Frazier told the City Council on Monday night that the roads around the block won’t be done, and we’re eight-plus months from getting to admire the brand-new H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library and McGregor Hall Gallery.

“It’s too late for a groundbreaking,” Williams said, “and too early for a dedication.”score loans 500schools alaska ak student loans inequity home loans 110from of loans accounting treatment shareholders7500 loans personalalberta companies online loan3000 dollar loanany loans credit 50,000 business Map
